Let's Make Some Memories

THE MASTER PLAN

Lost

When you’re wading through the unknown, it can feel scary and risky. You float around wondering if you’re going in the right direction and want to know what’s next.

Being lost is a collaboration between possibility and uncertainty. It’s an excuse to get one step closer to a more fulfilling life. What you were comfortable with may not be there anymore, but you will have the remarkable opportunity to reconnect with yourself and embrace discovery.

In these “in-between” moments, turn to your inner beacon and pay close attention to where it’s guiding you. Your beacon is the light that blazes within you, a signal made up of your values, dreams, and priorities.

Then remind yourself that life is not about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself! Cheers to 2020!

Gratitude

This month's theme is Gratitude!

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. In the simplest terms, gratitude turns what we have into enough.

Saying thank you and showing your gratitude with a handwritten message can make all the difference in your relationships. From a sweet thank you note to writing out why you’re so thankful, there are a variety of ways to express your gratitude. Whether you’re looking for a quote to share with friends or a reminder for yourself, join me in this season of

GRATITUDE!

Preserve

What do we care about? What do we take for granted? Would we miss it if it disappeared?

Preservation begins with asking deep questions and turning our attention to the environment around us.

Our daily habits are a mirror reflecting back what we truly care about. Our actions are key to protecting the well-being of our communities, cities, and planet.

Pause for a moment to notice what is being neglected and take an audit. We can break out of patterns, simplify our lives, and focus on the things that will last a long time.

Wonder

According to the classical Greek philosopher Socrates, “Wonder is the beginning of wisdom.” By drawing us out of our typical patterns, wonderment reconnects us with our ability to marvel at new and beautiful things.

We all have the capacity for wonder; but why do we lose sight of it?

As our lives get busier, we tend to streamline our schedules and relationships to become more efficient. We want to know what will happen and when it will happen. But extraordinary things occur if we make room for the unexpected.

When we leave space in our plans, we create magical conditions for our imagination and thoughts to collide with one another. And it is from these sparks that our best ideas are born.

Traditions

We're in a time where traditions are being challenged and remixed. We question how they came to be and the context in how (or if) they fit into the future.

“This is just the way it is” is a statement of fear, not possibility. It undermines the human capacity to adapt and create change. Traditions are made by us, for us, so therefore they can be reinvented with intention and imagination.

You may not start the next national holiday, but you can bring to the table your generosity, your kindness, your vision and heart to create a more welcoming and memorable future.

End

On the other hand, beginnings are romanticized and energize us to envision all the impressive things we will do. Headlines celebrate the latest rising startup or 'it' destinations travelers must see.

But reaching the end of something can also carry meaningful joy. When we truly fulfill an ending, it reflects growth and real change. We can create projects to end loneliness, walk away from empty relationships, change habits, or choose a different career trajectory.
The secret about 'the end' is that it actually contains countless possibilities.

So long first half of the year...hello opportunity!
